kneeling, with a blade

VS

5 m membrane with Rooffox

automatic, documented

On the left, everyday work without the machine: lay the batten, mark up, cut kneeling – for every single membrane. On the right, the same job with the Rooffox: load the roll, enter the size, press the button – the finished pieces stack up by themselves.

Time

Faster workflow

While the machine works through the cutting list, your team gets on with other work. Only the rolls need reloading.

Precision

Dead-straight cuts

Every cut exactly to size, little waste, all quantities documented. The software reduces errors and material wear.

Money

Measurably pays off

Straight cuts, little waste, documented quantities. The calculator below shows when the Rooffox pays off for your business.

Health is working capital

Healthy employees.
Healthy company. More revenue.

Cutting bitumen by hand means kneeling, bending, pulling a sharp blade – for hours. The Rooffox takes exactly this work off your team. What that means for your business:

Easy on backs and knees
The roll is loaded from the side, not lifted. Cutting is done standing up, at the push of a button – ergonomic instead of kneeling.
No risk of injury when cutting
The sharp blades work inside the machine, not in the hand. Fewer cuts, fewer days off sick.
Skilled workers where they earn revenue
Whoever isn't cutting is welding. Apprentices learn the value-adding work earlier – and people who work without wearing their bodies out stay with the company longer. With today's skills shortage, that's hard cash.

Why Rooffox

Built for the roof – and for the workshop

The ROOFFOX cuts where you need it: mobile on the flat roof, its primary place of work, just as well as stationary in the workshop.

Cutting capacity
Cuts all bitumen membranes up to 1.10 m wide and 8 mm thick – PVC and FPO membranes too. Cuts crosswise, to the left and to the right.
Power supply
Standard 230 V socket. Optionally via battery system – just plug in the power cable.
Mobility on the roof
Two swivel castors with brakes, two fixed castors. Approx. 70 kg – one person can push it across the roof.

Calculation based on the reference values of Haidl Products GmbH: 15 min per bitumen membrane (5 m) by hand vs. 1 min 35 s with the Rooffox. Membrane requirement: 0.112 membranes per metre of parapet per layer (equals 33.6 membranes per 100 m of parapet with 3 layers). Actual values may vary from project to project. We give a 4-year warranty on the Rooffox. Tax depreciation is not yet included in the payback calculation – the actual payback period may therefore be even shorter.

How to use

Four steps to the finished cut

1 ROOFFOX V2.0 steht neben einer Palette mit Bitumenrollen
The ROOFFOX stands firmly on the ground next to the pallet of bitumen membranes.
2 Mitarbeiter legt Bitumenrolle auf der Baustelle seitlich in den ROOFFOX ein
The roll is loaded from the side – no lifting – and fed in by the machine.
3 Halbmondklingen schneiden die Bitumenbahn in Querrichtung
The membranes are cut crosswise with standard half-moon blades.
4 Fertige Bitumenzuschnitte stapeln sich vor dem ROOFFOX mit der Oberseite nach oben
After the cut, the pieces usually stack with the top side facing up.

How to use it, demonstrated by the inventor

Tobias Büttgen, roofer and developer of the ROOFFOX, shows the individual steps on site.

Blade change in seconds

Standard half-moon blades from Lutz Blades. Depending on the material, one blade lasts 100 to 500 cuts – changing it takes a few seconds.

Maintenance-free technology

Automatically detects remnants that are too short, ejects them and carries on with the new roll. If material does get caught: unscrew, remove, carry on.

Compatibility

Which membranes run through?

Suitable

  • All bitumen membranes up to 8 mm thick and 1.10 m wide
  • PVC and FPO membranes
  • Cold self-adhesive membranes – fully filmed, incl. the adhesive strip of the seam (up to 60 °C)
  • Membranes from 4 mm even at high temperatures up to 60 °C

Not suitable

  • Rubber membranes
  • Protection mats

For longer periods on the roof, a cover tarpaulin is available as an accessory.

Site test

Tested at 50 °C – passed

Summer on the flat roof: we ran the ROOFFOX in the climate chamber at 50 degrees. No problems, no sticking – the machine keeps cutting.

Transport & use

In 5 minutes: onto the roof

Approx. 70 kg, four crane eyes, forklift pockets underneath, carrying handles for two people. The ROOFFOX gets to where the cutting is done by crane, lift, pallet truck or by hand – and moves around there on four castors.

Frequent questions

Answered briefly

Which membranes does the Rooffox cut?
All bitumen membranes up to 8 mm thick and 1.10 m wide, PVC and FPO membranes too. Cold self-adhesive membranes must be fully filmed – including the adhesive strip of the seam. Rubber membranes and protection mats are not suitable.
What power connection do I need?
A standard 230 V socket is enough. For roofs without power there is a battery system as an accessory – just plug in the power cable.
How does the machine get onto the roof?
The Rooffox weighs approx. 70 kg. Four crane eyes, forklift pockets and carrying handles allow transport by crane, lift, pallet truck, forklift or two people.
How long does a blade last and what do replacements cost?
Depending on the material, 100 to 500 cuts. It uses standard half-moon blades from Lutz Blades – replacement blades are available directly in the shop, and changing takes a few seconds.
Does the machine also work in the heat on the roof?
Yes. The Rooffox was tested at 50 °C in the climate chamber – with no sticking. Membranes from 4 mm and fully filmed cold self-adhesive membranes work up to 60 °C.
Warranty and maintenance?
4-year warranty. The machine is maintenance-free – if material ever gets caught, it is easy to unscrew and clean.
